WHAT THE DIGITAL KOLOR KARD CAN DO:

The Kolor Kard is a 5 by 7 inch (127 by 177.8 mm) postcard weight paper card. On the front there are 18 pigment-based reference color targets protected by a matte coating. The reference color patches facilitate white balance and exposure for film and digital photography, as well as the setup, profiling, and adjustment of color scanners, cameras, digital video, digital printers, and digital display systems.

WHITE BALANCE and DIGITAL COLOR BALANCE:

For fast and accurate white balance and color balance settings in digital photography the new Digital Kolor Kard has what you need. On the front, a pure white target, absolute black target, and four neutral gray patches, including an 18% gray patch. Extra large 18% gray patch on the back.

EXPOSURE AND WHITE/BLACK POINT SETTING:

For easy exposure setting for cameras and scanners, a six step gray scale with 0% 35%, 50%, 60%, 80% and 100% density is included. For white and black point setting using the Adobe Photoshop(tm) "levels" control, true black and pure white targets flank the gray patches. For precise exposure control in film photography, an extra large 18% grey (50% reflectance) patch is included on the reverse allows easy exposure metering and control.

ACCURATE COLOR REPRODUCTION WITH SCANNERS AND DIGITAL IMAGE SYSTEMS:

The reference color patches consist of 12 colors, including 6 CYMK colors red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and magenta, and subset of 6 of the 10 CIE (Commission internationale de l'éclairage) test color samples (CIE 1999 R96a method). All of the CMYK and L*a*b* colorimetry values are printed on the back of the card should you ever need them.
